In a statement, Marítimo regretted the unjustified occupation of the emergency areas and places reserved for its members by Benfica fans, in the match between the two teams on Sunday.
“Marítimo hereby repudiates the unfortunate actions that took place in the match against Benfica, in the stands of our stadium. (…]Many of the opponent’s fans did not respect the places indicated on their tickets, and therefore occupied the emergency areas and the places reserved for Maritimo members, ”said the statement published on the club’s website.
Estádio dos Barreiros recorded the season’s best home reception for Benfica, with 10,547 spectators, with a total occupancy of 99.83 percent, which will make it difficult for the authorities to act as requested by Marítimo, according to the aforementioned memorandum. .
