Kylian Mbappe's lawyer on Tuesday spoke out about the fact that the France international is the target of an investigation for alleged rape and sexual assault in Sweden.
Speaking to TF1, Marie-Alex Cano Bernard denied the validity of the accusations against the Real Madrid striker.
“They tell us that a complaint has been filed, but we don't even know against whom. The complaint does not prove the truth, it does not prove anything. I don't even know if the complaint was against him. At no time was he alone at night in Stockholm. “There are times when he is in a situation where he could be exposed to danger, and this completely negates the possibility of him committing something.”
Afterwards, the lawyer revealed that she spoke with Mbappe: “He is particularly calm, but he is quite surprised to see this kind of ‘noise’ from the media. He added that he did not understand what he could be accused of, directly or indirectly.
He asked: “If there is an investigation, will it be brought to Swedish justice?” If so, it's obvious. But, again, the day was quite quiet. He also went out to train, because he had nothing to blame himself for at all.
In the end, Mary confirmed that she would press charges for publishing defamatory reports.
