In second place is Dr. Alexandre Elias, from São Paulo, a bariatric surgeon and member of the Scientific Committee of the CBCBM. His step was made through the video “Corrective surgery after Phoebe Kabila surgery by video laparoscopy, 15 years later – Robot-assisted video surgery”.
The VAR system made several interventions during matches with the aim of clarifying doubts and providing a fairer tournament. The winners were chosen through interactive voting with the audience participating in the event.

Surgeons love to see good surgeries and that’s what we have here.” – said the tournament’s creator and referee, Dr. Luiz Vicente Berti (SP), Executive Vice President of the Brazilian Society of Metabolic and Obesity Surgery.
Doctors Luiz Fernando Cordova (Brasilia), Pedro Martinez (Argentina), Pablo Esteban (Argentina), Percy Prante (Chile) and Hector Geninazi (Uruguay) also participated as referees.
Quarter-finals
The event began with the semi-finals between Dr. Alexandre Elias and Mauricio Emmanuel Gonçalves Vieira – in the first group – and Luiz Felipe Coraza Martins and Cristian Lamar Schepe – in the second group.
Mauricio Emanuel and Luiz Felipe Coraza shared third place.
