Despite turning 36 this summer and moving to Major League Soccer (MLS), Lionel Messi says he still isn’t thinking about the end of his career.
“I still don’t think about it, to be honest. I like to play, I like to be with the ball, to be on the court, to compete and to train.”
“I don’t know how long I’ll play, but I’ll try to enjoy it as much as possible, until I’m okay and then I’ll see. Then there’s time to think, analyze and choose. The most important thing today is to make the most of what’s left, be it a little or a lot, but to the fullest.” ».
And Messi again assumed that moving to Miami was a “family decision”.
He stressed, “We spent two difficult years (in Paris), and we were not feeling well, and it cost us.”
“The goal was to go back a little bit to how we were when we were in Barcelona, to enjoy day to day, with the kids, that the family is fine, that I enjoy the daily sports, which was not the case. We decided this would be the place for several reasons and today, after some time, we were not wrong.”
Since arriving at Inter Miami, Messi has played seven matches, scoring 10 goals and adding an assist.
