Within the framework of the G20 program in Brazil, the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) is promoting the side event “Artificial Intelligence for Social Justice and Sustainable Development”. The symposium will be held on April 17 in the Vladimir Mortinho Hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Brasilia, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The initiative is part of the Digital Economy Working Group. The event discusses challenges such as the inequitable distribution of AI assets and infrastructure across the planet and solutions to provide governments, the private sector and civil society with the tools to engage with new technology.

Registration is now open and can be done at Event page Until April 16. Event topics also include the issue of AI infrastructure, human resource onboarding, ethical aspects and concerns about data security and worsening social and economic disparities.

G20

Since December 1, 2023, Brazil holds the interim presidency of the G20, the group that includes the world's major economies. This is the first time the country holds this position in history. Throughout the mandate, Brazil will organize more than 100 working group meetings and around 20 ministerial meetings, which will culminate in the Summit of Heads of Government and State to be held in Rio de Janeiro on 18-19 November.
