In the Federal District there is another patient suspected of having monkeypox (monkeypox). As a result, there are now two cases under investigation in the capital of the republic. The information has been confirmed for Mail By the Ministry of Health on Friday afternoon (1).
The Federal District Health Department (SES-DF) said it is still awaiting the lab test result for the first suspected case, a man between the ages of 20 and 29, who is healthy and at home. The story was revealed by Mail On June 21. Regarding the latest case, the ministry stated that a man between the ages of 30 and 39 had recently returned from an international trip.
Monkeypox is a rare viral infection, and most patients recover within a few weeks, according to the UK Public Health System (SUS). Symptoms are usually flu-like and swollen lymph nodes. After that, it develops into a rash of blisters all over the body.
As cases progressed in the country, the Secretariat distributed a technical note to health professionals from public and private networks, with guidelines for the treatment and management of the disease. The technical note instructions state that suspected patients should be kept in a separate area until receiving medical care, and the patient should be transferred to an isolation ward with others as soon as possible.
According to the ministry, in Brazil, 48 cases of monkeypox have been confirmed so far. Details show a confirmed case in Minas Gerais; two in Rio Grande do Sul; one in Ceará; eight in Rio de Janeiro; and 36 in São Paulo.
Another 47 cases are under investigation by the national ministry, and the latest suspect was confirmed in the Federal District on Friday (1).
