An independent team of investigators believes they have identified the “Zodiac Killer,” a criminal at the center of one of the most high-profile cases in US history, unsolved for 52 years.
The movie “Zodiac Killer” relates to five murders in San Francisco Bay between 1968 and 1969. Two victims escaped and many of the crimes are suspected to have been committed by the person who claims to have caused 37 deaths.
In 1969, the criminal called the San Francisco Chronicle and called the police, identifying himself only as “Zodiac”. In total, four messages were received, one of which revealed his identity, but the code was never broken.

The last victim was Taxi driver Paul Stein, 29 years old, who was shot in the head in a San Francisco neighborhood the following month. The Zodiac Killer claimed this crime by sending some bloody clothes to the San Francisco Chronicle.
Over the years, several theories have surfaced regarding the identity of the zodiac killer – including a son who claimed the criminal was his deceased father and another man who claimed that a friend of his confessed to the crimes before his death in 2002.
However, the only man named as a suspect was Arthur Lee Allen, of Vallejo, California, who died in 1992, a month after being identified by surviving victim Michael Magoo. Although questioned about Cecilia Shepherd’s murder in Napa, and police searched his property in the 1970s, the man was never arrested.
