News, Lillehammer | The drunk youths ran in front of and near the train: – Very dangerous

– It is very unfortunate and very dangerous. And when they are drunk too, we take this very seriously, and we have chosen to spread a message about this with the aim of prevention, says Operations Director Frode Øverås at the Internal Police.

And many young people gathered on Sunday evening in retttadalen, a popular place where young people gather to celebrate.

On the way to the area, many young people displayed unsafe behavior along the train line.

– We have contacted train drivers who tell us of young people running in front of and near the train as it passes. We have two patrols on site and we’ve taken quite a few people. We expel orders, direct them, and issue them, says Ophryus.

The police must have been notified of this from 20.40, and there were several episodes where young people jumped out in front of the train.

The night of May 1 is traditionally a festive day for many young people. Ahead of the weekend, Lisbeth Solvang, principal of Semstad High School, sent a message and said that they had learned that young people in grades 9-10 had been invited via social media to a big party in Lillehammer.

“Årettadalen, Badedammen and Skistadion are places we have heard about. We want to take the opportunity to encourage a conversation with our young people related to this,” the headmaster wrote in a letter to parents.

By 22-23, most of the young men had moved on from retttadalen.

Many moved to Badedammen, where by 11 p.m. many young people began to congregate.
