Before G-Star, migration updates such as RPG, FPS, etc… New game “waiting for order”

[미디어펜=나광호 기자]Amid concerns about reduced playing time due to the end of social distancing, Nexon is encouraging improved profitability by strengthening its portfolio.

According to Industry Day 23, Nexon Games’ expected sales in the third quarter of this year are expected to reach 42 billion won, up 17 billion won from the previous quarter. During the same period, operating profit is expected to turn black from -6.8 billion won to 9.1 billion won.

Sales and operating profit for this year are estimated at 140 billion won and 22 billion won respectively, and sales are expected to more than double from the previous year. The operating profit should also turn black.

It also plans to introduce a new schedule at “G-Star 2022”, Korea’s largest gaming event. Nexon plans to attend G-Star with 300 booths for the first time in four years and hold a preview event next month.

Nexon is conducting global beta testing of the new “First Descendant” on Steam, a video game software distribution network. This is a root shooter that combines a third-person shooter and a role-playing game.

It is also conducting global beta tests for “Warhaven”, a new PvP game whose service Nexon.com started after Steam. Warhaven is a game where 32 warriors fight in the medieval fantasy world “Herus”, where there are only legitimate weapons.

“Civilization: Rain of Power,” the MMOSLG simulation based on “Sid Meier’s Civilization V,” also receives pre-recording. This is a work that Nexon is developing with American Endrim and Firaxis games, and you can choose one of 14 civilizations, including Korea, Russia, Rome, Japan, China, Germany, France and the United States. It also features Diplomatic content and Alliance-level PvP warfare.

Its subsidiary Embark Studio is also about to release the first-person shooter game “The Finals”. Nixon explained that on platforms like PC, PS5, and Xbox, battles with characters like “ninjas” and “cowboys” can be fought in a virtual battlefield based on real attractions. It is possible to destroy an entire building or move between collapsed buildings.

It also strives to win the hearts of existing users and attract new users by constantly updating deals, including “Hit 2”, a multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG).

In the case of Hit 2, the new content is slated to be presented by Episode 2 Reclaimed Glory on the 26th.

The global mobile virtual community platform “NEXON TOWN” is also packed with MapleStory themes. In contrast to the current default Nexon Town space, new spaces including “Henesis” have been implemented in 2D side-scrolling to highlight the sensitivity of the MapleStory, and the “Item Store” has also been introduced.

Additionally, Nexon Town’s strategy is to develop it as a “hub” that encompasses all Nexon games, such as improving connectivity with their games through additional updates and offering an “integrated platform” linked to items and assets.

An industry official said: “It’s a move to drive new growth engines while the cash cows, including FIFA Online 4 and Dungeon & Fighter, are doing well at home and abroad. They seem to be charting an upward chart,” he said. .
