The conflict between Nos and Altice also plays on innovation - communication

Nos profits grow over 50% to reach 120 million by September – Telecommunications

We reported a net profit of €120 million in the first nine months of 2021, a value that represented a 51.7% increase over the €79 million profit achieved in the same period last year. Operational activity contributed to this development, with growth in all business sectors.

The operator’s accounts were disclosed on Wednesday, November 3, in a statement sent to the Brazilian Securities Market Commission (CMVM). “In the first nine months of 2021, Nos delivered very strong operating results, grew in the number of services across all business segments and increased penetration of converged offerings, which has already reached 63.8% of its stable customer base,” the statement reads.

Thus, at the end of September, the United States provided a total of 10.147 million services, which corresponds to a growth of 2.8% compared to last year. Television services increased slightly to 1.643 million, while mobile communications services grew by 4.8% and totaled 5.209 million. In the cinema too, we are aware of the recovery, especially in the third quarter, when many of the restrictions imposed by the pandemic were lifted. Between January and September, Nos sold 1.819 million movie tickets, 70% of which were in the third quarter alone.

Altogether, Arqam’s revenue totaled €1,044 million between January and September 2021, an increase of 3.1% over last year. EBITDA increased 1.4% in the period to a total of €477.7 million.

The net financial debt was €887.8 million, which is 1.7 times the EBITDA after leasing and represents a 15% increase over last year.
