Nuno Santos is expected to leave TVI’s general management soon to take over the leadership of CNN Portugal. Information is provided on Friday 9 July by “Media and Advertising”, who also wrote that the information should be published this month by a group from the Queluz de Baixo station.
Details about CNN Portugal, the station for which Nuno Santos should be director, are still scarce. “In due course, Media Capital will have the opportunity to present the entire CNN Portugal operation,” Media Capital commented in remarks published in the same publication.
In May of this year, the owner of TVI announced the signing of a “Memorandum of Understanding for a License Agreement” providing for the creation of CNN Portugal.
“The channel will be programmed and operated by Media Capital under license from CNN, which will also provide training, consulting and access to content from across the CNN portfolio. This agreement opens a new chapter in the history of television in Portugal, as it is a partnership with one of the most innovative and influential television chains in the world “The Portuguese company announced in a statement when announcing the understanding.
Nuno Santos joined TVI in January 2020, after leaving Channel 11. In July last year, he was appointed General Manager of Queluz de Baixo.
