This week, OnePlus globally launched its new flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 12. Recently, Zack Nelson, from YouTube channel JerryRigEverything, showed off the inside of the model, revealing the largest vapor chamber currently available on the market.
In this video, we saw the split battery configuration adopted by the new OnePlus smartphone that allows simultaneous charging of each part, either by supporting 100W fast charging or 50W wireless. This solution not only achieves more efficient charging, but also allows for better overall battery management.
The two-layer steam room is then revealed, the largest currently available on the market. The Cryo Velocity Camera, that's its name, is in direct contact with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and the OnePlus 12 display.
This cooling system covers an impressive area of 9,140mm2. The double layer configuration has an opening to accommodate a small amount of liquid that circulates within this vapor chamber. This mechanism helps to effectively control the temperature of the smartphone.
OnePlus uses this cooling system to manage the temperature of the included Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, but also to cool the batteries and wireless charging system.
Although these vapor chambers are not a new concept, the OnePlus 12 system, due to its dual-layer design, is able to increase the cooling surface area. In other words, it improves heat dissipation.
