All nuclear power plants operating in Germany will be closed by the end of 2022. Abandonment of a nuclear power plant will not be climate neutral because it will emit more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere by increasing the combustion of coal and natural gas from beyond the western border.

-There is a protest organized by the Destructive Rebellion Movement and the FOTA4Climate Foundation in front of the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Obole today (22.12) at 16:00. Alexandra Ksarneka, a devastating rebel activist, says Germany is destructive. – We can see that solar and wind energy are on the clean side and nuclear power is behind them. According to science, we need such a combination: a nuclear and renewable energy sources. “This is our message to the German government, which is committing climate suicide,” he said.

– This is a pan-European initiative, and Opol initiates this process. The climax of the event will take place on December 29th. In many European cities, candle holders will appear under the official representatives of the Federal Republic of Germany, bidding farewell to these power plants – adds Jacek Lekki from FOTA4Climate.

Germany has been away from nuclear power for years. There are currently six more nuclear power plants in operation there. Half of them will close by the end of this year and the last three by the end of 2022.
