OPPO shows the unique camera feature you want!

The first day of OPPO’s big Inno Day event was tumultuous, as the Chinese manufacturer unveiled and showcased impressive technological innovations. After unveiling the new imaging NPU as well as the revolutionary assistive reality glasses, the manufacturer demonstrated new imaging technology in a new prototype.

Basically, the manufacturer has placed a retractable camera on the back of the smartphone, which will ensure much above average image quality as well as great versatility.

With this new technology, the manufacturer was able to use a large 50MP (1/1.56 inch) Sony IMX 766 sensor in a smartphone that is only 8.26mm thick. This lens, according to the manufacturer, is equivalent to a 50mm lens on a conventional DSLR, which makes it possible to achieve up to 2x optical zoom.

It is true that this type of zoom is far from pioneering, but the fact that it is achieved using the best sensor in the image unit will allow you to take high-quality photos. Moreover, a larger separation between sensor and lens will allow you to take more natural selfies and better separation between subject and hair.

The manufacturer has already confirmed that it has plans to incorporate this new technology into one of its future smartphones, but it ended up not revealing details about when that might happen.

Not all wonders with OPPO’s flagship camera

Although this technological advancement promises a huge leap in the quality of photos taken by OPPO smartphones, at least for now, not everything is great.

Unfortunately, the main camera sensor is only available when the lens is “off” and cannot be used in its fixed position.

However, it is important to note that this entire mechanism comes with certification for water and dust resistance, as well as a safety system that allows the camera to return to normal in just 0.6 seconds in the event of a fall.
