The agency also denied the statements of the couple’s representative, who alleged that the Dukes of Sussex had been stalked by “very aggressive paparazzi”. According to the photographers who were present at the time, “there was no danger of collision or accident” during what happened. “At any time the paparazzi felt the couple would be in danger,” he adds.

“At Backgrid USA Inc., we do not tolerate any form of harassment or illegal activity. We take Prince Harry’s allegations seriously and will fully investigate the matter,” the statement added.

It should be noted, however, that the New York Police Department (NYPD) was called in to assist during Harry and Meghan’s transfer. Although calm, the authorities described the danger scenario, without incident: “On the night of Tuesday, May 16, NYPD assisted a special security team to protect the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Numerous photographers made transportation difficult.
