Portugal Mutual Funds Have Their Best Semester Ever

June was the 14th consecutive month that national investment funds were able to increase investment, more precisely, 277.8 million euros, an amount that raised to 1.972.9 million the amount raised in subscriptions in the first half of the year, according to data released in the issue monthly. This is a record value, already exceeding nearly 1,500 million euros raised last year and the previous record set in the first six months of 2005, when funds attracted 1,241 million euros.

According to the newspaper, the prospects for inflation have pushed investors to the funds, as time deposits or certificates have no returns or very low returns.

Investors’ preferred funds are savings and retirement plans (PPR), which raised 505.2 million euros, with a market share of 21.2% and with assets under management of 3,639.6 million euros, as shown in the “Journal of Business”. . These products have grown a lot in recent years, in part due to tax advantages.
