«Good morning Lucia!», writes the Swedish Royal House and shares a selfie.
It’s the mother, Crown Princess Victoria, 46, who snapped a photo of Princess Estelle, 11, and Prince Oscar, 7, at home at Haga Castle in Stockholm.
Estelle is Lucia with a light on her head and a plate of Christmas cookies in her hands. Little brother is a boy star.
– Wonderfully liberated
Birthday greetings and brags are flowing in the comments section.
«Wonderfully liberating! Barefoot and crown on a little snow», writes a woman.
«Thank you for having a royal house that spreads joy and love to everyone in our country“, writes another.
Within the first two hours, more than 30,000 people clicked “Like” and several hundred commented.
Princess Estelle is second in the line of succession – after her mother, Crown Princess Victoria. Prince Oscar is number three.
The princess’s children are two of eight grandchildren of King Carl Gustaf (77 years old) and Queen Silvia (79 years old).
The Norwegian Royal House also celebrates Lucia Day, with singing from the Bolteløkka girls’ choir.
«Lucia morning in the castle. Lighted candles and beautiful singing“, they write under a video on Instagram:
Lucia Day is a commemoration of Saint Lucia on December 13. According to legend, Lucia was a young woman who was murdered during the persecution of Christians in the Roman Empire in the early 4th century.
She is still celebrated as a saint in Catholic countries. In the Nordic countries, the celebration is combined with an ancient Norse tradition about the wise Lucy.
Looking back when Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, 50, became parents to two children in 2016:
