Public works bid promotions rose 212% to $2 billion over the past 12 months.

Of this amount, we note the opening of the tender for the high-speed railway line between Porto (Campanha) and Oia in the amount of 1,661.4 million euros.

The total volume of tenders for public works contracts promoted in January rose by 212%, to €2 billion, compared to the same period in 2023, according to data from the Industrial Association for Civil Construction and Public Sector. Business (AICCOPN) was released on Thursday, February 29th.

Of this amount, we note the opening of the tender for the high-speed railway line between Porto (Campanha) and Oia in the amount of 1,661.4 million euros.

Regarding the contracts concluded in the month under analysis and registered in the Portal Base until February 15, the value reached was 206 million euros, which means an annual growth of 15%.

The value of construction contracts signed in January amounted to 159 million euros, an increase of 5% compared to the same month of the previous year.

In contrast, contracts signed as a result of direct amendments and previous consultations showed an annual increase of 25% in January 2024, for a total of €32 million.
