Finally, the French giant has changed its mind and will lower the price of its electric cars, largely due to the new prices offered by Tesla.

Renault follows Tesla’s electric car pricing policy

New price pressure on Tesla is forcing brands to rethink the price of their electric cars

The pressure applied by the American company Tesla, when it introduced new prices for its electric cars, made electric car brands change their plans.

Like a game of chess, Tesla has made moves against the king of electric cars in Europe, and even for some manufacturers it can be a checkmate move!

After Tesla announced a price cut for its cars in Spain, where the Tesla Model 3 now costs less than 40,000 euros, it made this electric car one of the cheapest on the market and with even better performance!

A movement that came to shake the automotive sector, as brands realized that they would either join the game and adjust their prices as well, or they could not stand up to Tesla!

Musk’s American offers a quality/price ratio in its electric vehicles, which no other brand can offer, making it one of the preferred choices for electric vehicle buyers.

It was in February that Luke De MeoCEO of Renault, spoke clearly about the price war initiated by Tesla, and explained the position of the French lady on this subject: We don’t lower prices.

The situation may be due to two reasons:

But now, Renault has changed its mind, having followed the same path as Tesla.

It’s just that Tesla, in this latest price cut, left the affordable Renault Megane E-Tech kit even more expensive than the Tesla Model 3!

The change that made Renault’s Fabrice Kampolev leaves a message to the European audience: “We will analyze prices country by country, market by market, as well as the level of competitiveness we must remain in the game.

Tesla, by cutting prices, is challenging us, starting from the cost side. We are paying attention and we will act.”

A clear, concise and alarming message, as traditional manufacturers have to work hard to see where they can reduce costs in their electric car production processes and thus be able to take on Tesla, which is currently the most valuable in the world.
