Revolutionary vertical rooftop solar system

The Norwegian company has developed a revolutionary photovoltaic solar system for vertical rooftop installation.

Vertical rooftop solar photovoltaic system

Norwegian company Over Easy Solar has developed an innovative vertical rooftop photovoltaic system. The installation took place on the roof of a building in Oslo, with solar panels placed vertically on a green substrate. The total power of the system is 5 kW.

The solar panels are installed vertically at a height of 31.4 cm, eliminating the need for additional structures that would interfere with traditional roof cladding.

This configuration allows for better solar panel weight distribution, not exceeding 10 kg/m2.

Photovoltaic panels are oriented east-west and are bifacial, meaning they produce power on both sides.

Because of this orientation, power output is maximized during the morning and early afternoon, in contrast to traditional panels oriented south, which reach their peak output in the afternoon. Furthermore, the vertical installation of the panels is expected to reduce energy losses caused by dirt or snow.

Another advantage of this system is that it is easy and quick to install. according to More than Easy Solarthe time spent on planning and installation is 90% less compared to traditional photovoltaic systems.

This solution developed by the Norwegian company has been recognized by the European Photovoltaic Industry Association Solar Europe (SPE). At this year’s SPE Conference, Over Easy Solar was awarded Startup of the Year.

This vertical rooftop photovoltaic system represents an innovative and promising approach to solar energy production, with the benefits of faster installation, better use of sunlight and reduced energy losses.
