Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes have been feuding for the past few weeks, with history attached to both of them and their families.
In 2016, Cody Rhodes left WWE for the independent circuit and eventually helped form AEW. Despite being the Executive Vice President of the company, he left in 2022 to return to WWE.
Meanwhile, Roman Reigns asserted himself as the best superstar in WWE, and accused Cody Rhodes that while he “ran away” from the company, he stayed with it, helping it grow and develop.
In an interview with Daniel Cormier for ESPN, the “tribal leader” admitted that he didn’t know if he could do what “American Nightmare” did, and that he respected him for that.
This will sound a little strange because, in our heated discussions, I have said some things and I am on her side. From my point of view, escape [da WWE]. Plain and simple.
On the other hand, he did something very difficult. He did something, and that’s one of the things that probably bothers or worries me most about him… I don’t know if I would be willing or if I could have done what he did. As a man, I don’t like it. I want to feel like I can do anything, but he did something, I don’t know if I would be willing to do what he did. I respect that.
Lee and Seth [Rollins]That’s one of the only things we can agree on, we don’t want to work so hard all the time, build this thing for what it is, and have some “white knight” come and get it from us.
I worked hard year after year, Displays after Displaysto put this place [WWE] where is she. So here he comes [Cody Rhodes]. This is not how it works for me.
Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes will face off on Sunday for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship at WWE The main event The second night, WrestleMania 39.
