In all, all 156 vaccine rooms set up in the city’s primary health care centers will serve the public. The folder will also carry out home immunization (preferably for bedridden people or people with limited mobility).

As children are currently being immunized against Covid-19, the recommendation is not to apply the flu and measles vaccine dose together with the coronavirus vaccine in the public.

“Parents should prioritize vaccinating their children first against the coronavirus. A dose of influenza and measles vaccine can be applied simultaneously 15 days after the Covid-19 vaccination is given,” confirms Doian Lemos, immunization coordinator savior.

The influenza campaign will be divided into two phases. On the first, which will take place from April 4 to May 2, Seniors aged 60 or over and health workers will be covered.

The goal is at least vaccination 90% of the eligible population for strategy. It is estimated that about 1.2 million people are part of the target audience for this year’s flu campaign.

The measles strategy will also be divided into two phases. The first will be between April 4 and May 2 for health workers (regardless of vaccination status). Pregnant women are excluded from the vaccination.

From May 3 to June 3, it will be the turn of children from six months to under 5 years (4 years, 11 months and 29 days), who must take an extra dose of the MMR vaccine, even though they have already had 2 doses of the immune system . Only children who had the MMR vaccine less than a month ago should not be vaccinated again.

About 552,000 residents of the Bahian capital are eligible for the measles vaccination update. The campaign goal is to protect at least 95% of this audience
