Samsung surprises with the Qualcomm chip in the Galaxy Z Fold6

Samsung surprises with the Qualcomm chip in the Galaxy Z Fold6

After proving that the Exynos 2400 processor is close in performance to Qualcomm's top-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, Samsung has made a surprising choice.

The premium foldable Galaxy Z Fold6 will hide a Qualcomm chip inside and not the South Korean brand's own processor. But there is a reason why this happens.

The information is provided by Electric diffusion Which explains the reason for this choice by Samsung. This post says that the South Korean brand preferred to integrate the Qualcomm chip due to its power efficiency.

Although the Exynos 2400 processor has significantly improved performance and power efficiency over its predecessor, it still cannot meet the power requirements needed to integrate Samsung's best-in-class foldable phone.

But there is more. According to the same publication, the Exynos processor also does not meet the power requirements of the Galaxy Z Flip6. For this reason, the new foldable body will also be equipped with a Qualcomm chipset.

The two new foldable models are expected to be officially presented at the brand's upcoming Unpacked event, which will be held in July.
