Santa Cruz do Rio Pardo City Hall is holding its second clean-up effort of the year with a focus on combating the Aedes Aegypti mosquito, the mosquito that transmits diseases like dengue, Zika and chikungunya.
The first work of its kind was carried out in February of this year and collected 620 tons of waste with the potential to accumulate water that serves as a breeding ground for mosquitoes. However, the rising number of dengue cases spurred a new initiative.
The new task force started on Monday (17) and will pass through all neighborhoods according to the official schedule of the municipality administration. Extensive action is scheduled through next week, as well as scheduled for the first weekends of May.
Residents of neighborhoods that will have mutirão must leave all kinds of unusable items on the sidewalk the night before teams pass, according to the list below:
