SAS, Flight Methods | SAS opens nine new routes from Norwegian airports: – Looking forward to a busy summer

After a somewhat tumultuous summer in 2022 with strikes and major financial losses, there are now brighter times for the Scandinavian airline. In a press release Thursday afternoon, they mentioned that 20 new flight paths will open in the summer of 2023, nine of these from Norwegian airports.

– We are excited to announce our program for next summer, and we are excited to see the increased interest in travel. Next summer will include many new destinations, but also more capacity in already existing destinations. SAS will continue to add new destinations in the coming months, as an addition to our already large network. We are looking forward to a busy summer,” SAS Vice President Eric Westman said in a press release.

Most of the new routes will depart from Oslo Airport. In the summer of 2023 it will be possible to travel to Antalya, Florence, Catania, Venice, Larnaca and Stuttgart. From Bergen Airport, Flesland, there will be opportunities for sun and good weather with departures to Milan and Nice. And the latest departure may not be “weird”, but a new route is opening from Trondheim Airport, Viernes, to Haugesund.

Otherwise, these are the new SAS tracks for summer 2023:

* From Stockholm to: Antalya, Ibiza, Montpellier and Vaasa.
* From Copenhagen to: Antalya, Haugesund, Newquay/Cornwall, Larnaca, Porto, Zadar and JFK/New York.

This means that SAS will open a total of 20 new routes from the summer of next year, which in turn means that 5,000 routes will be flown per week to more than 100 destinations, according to the company’s press release.
