In the week of June 20-26, average prices at gas stations were four cents above the average weekly price set by the regulator, with the price of diesel up 1.5 cents, the institute said.

According to the information contained in the weekly report on the supervision of sales prices to the public, published today by the Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE), “Compared to the previous week, it was found that the national average of sales prices to the public announced in, and reported in Balcão Único da Energia, It was 4.0 cents / liter [cêntimos por litro] higher than the effective price for that week, in the case of simple 95 gasoline, which is equivalent to the highest value since the publication of this report.”

The effective price is the average weekly price determined by the ERSE that results from the sum of several factors, i.e. “fuel prices in international reference markets and related sea shipments, core logistics, including in this segment the strategy and security of the national petroleum system, and incremental costs with Incorporation of biofuels and the retail component as well as related taxes,” he explained.

In the same report, ERSE noted that “even compared to the previous week, with regard to discounted prices,” which are the average prices published by the Directorate General of Energy and Geology (DGEG), they “remained below the effective price.” , with a simple petrol 95 being “a deviation of -0.1% compared to the effective price and a simple diesel – 1.7%”, and “in absolute numbers, these estimates have been made, for the 95 and for the simple diesel, at 0.2 cents/l and 3.6 cents/l less than Effective prices, respectively.

As revealed by the regulator this week (from 27 June to 3 July), “the effective pre-tax price is €1,277/liter. [euros/litro] for the simple 95 petrol and €1,393/l for the simple diesel, “and that the effective price after taxes is €2,132/l and €2,123/l for the simple 95 petrol and simple diesel, respectively”.

The price of fuel is dropping this week, with the government estimating a drop in the price of a liter of diesel by three cents and 3.9 cents for gasoline, according to Finance Ministry data sent today to Lusa.

In the case of diesel, the estimated drop is the first since the beginning of the week on May 30. In gasoline, there was a decline for the second week in a row, ending a cycle of increases since May 9.

ERSE has started publishing a new fuel price monitoring report weekly, since May 30, which makes it possible to compare prices set at gas stations with those calculated by the regulator.
