Sorocaba records 85,291 Covid-19 cases, 82,383 recoveries and 2,824 deaths – Agência de Notícias

Sorocaba Municipality, through the Department of Health (SES), recorded an increase in the number of people recovering from COVID-19 this Saturday (2), reaching a total of 82,383. Indeed, the number of confirmed cases of the disease increased from 85,272 to 85,291 in the city. The number of confirmed deaths has risen to 2,824. The municipality’s death rate is 3.3%, below the state’s rate of 3.4% and above the national average of 2.8%.

Sorocaba received a notification of 19 more confirmed cases of Covid-19, 25 recovered and one died, this happened on September 30, but it was reported by the hospital to epidemiological surveillance and it was counted today (October 2). Of the total confirmed number, 22 people have been hospitalized (18 in the intensive care unit) and the total number of people recovered (home isolation) is 62.

The city showed an increase in the number of people suspected of being infected with the Corona virus and is awaiting results from 197 to 220. Among the suspects, eight have been admitted to city hospitals, four of whom are in the intensive care unit. There is no death under investigation. The number of those dismissed due to negative disease results increased to 163,723.

In the daily count of Covid-19 beds this Saturday (2), at Adib Jatene State Hospital, 20 Covid ICU (Intensive Care Unit) beds were filled with 15%. Another statewide hospital, Conjunto Hospitalar de Sorocaba (CHS), has two Covid beds and two are occupied. Covid’s only infant intensive care unit bed without a patient. Of the 10 Covid ICU beds available in this hospital, seven are occupied.

Among the hospitals contracted by Sorocaba municipality to provide Covid beds, Santa Casa has a 19.04% occupancy rate of Covid beds. In other words, of the 21 present, four are patients. The occupancy of the Covid ICU in Santa Casa is 25%, which represents 10 occupied families out of the 40 assigned. Of the six GPACI Covid clinical beds, none have been filled.

In the private network, Unimed Hospital has an occupancy rate of 10% of Covid clinical beds for adults out of 20 agreed beds and 26.66% of those in the intensive care unit (four occupied beds out of 15 existing). The only infant bed in the Covid intensive care unit in this hospital is not occupied. Samaritano has four occupied Covid clinical beds out of a total of 10 existing. Already, the ICU Covid has four occupied beds out of the ten available. Of the two intensive care beds of two children with Covid, none have been filled. The Evangelical Hospital has two occupied Covid ICU beds out of 10 agreed-upon beds and none of the 10 agreed-upon occupied beds. Amhaid Hospital has 13 approved Covid beds and none of them are occupied. The intensive care unit of the same hospital has two occupied beds out of a total of seven.
