Benfica confirmed, on Monday, that it had received a proposal from the Statute Review Committee with the aim of amending the club’s statutes. Among the proposals are, for example, “the establishment of three terms in the club, the end of the 50-kilometre limit for corresponding members and a new weighting of the number of votes by seniority of members”. The process that began in July aimed at a legal review of Nisour continues to progress and is now in the hands of the board that will analyze the document. The revision of the Benfica Statutes will culminate in the presentation of a final proposal at a general meeting of members, in due course.

On Monday, March 21, the Statute Review Committee submitted to the club management a proposal for new laws for the sport of Lisbon and Benfica.
Among the proposals for consideration are the establishment of three terms in the club, the end of the 50-kilometre limit for corresponding members, and a new weighting of the number of votes by members’ seniority.
The Board of Directors will now analyze the document and move forward with the process, which will culminate in a final proposal to Members in the General Assembly, in due course, of a new legal framework for Sport Lisboa e Benfica.”
