Submissions are open for the eighth edition of the PlayStation Talents Awards in Portugal

The Playstation Talents Awards, powered by Sony Playstation, have been able to carve out a space of their own in the (indoor) national panorama of video games (and development) over recent years.

This year, it is not surprising that the eighth edition of the competition appears and applications are now open.

In recent years, the national panorama of video game development has received a very strong impetus from several factors, among which are these Playstation talents, with the support of Sony Playstation.

This competition, which is at the same time a showcase of values ​​and creativity, is already in its eighth edition and registration for the current competition is now open, projects can be submitted until 11:59 pm on September 30th.

Small studios, university students, young programmers, and Portuguese companies that earned less than €100,000 in 2021 can compete for the PlayStation Talents Awards in Portugal. All candidates must submit a project team consisting of at least three types of profile: game designer, programmer, and artist.

The best deals will be revealed during the month of October. The big winner of the 2022 PlayStation Talents Award for Best Game, as well as the winners of the remaining categories will be announced early next year.

It is worth noting that the winning project of the PlayStation Talents 2022 Award for Best Game will receive economic support for the development and publication of the game by PlayStation Iberia through:

  • €10,000 cash for video game development;
  • Publish the game on the PlayStation Network;
  • access to PlayStation development tools;
  • Promotion and marketing campaign on PlayStation channels worth 50,000 euros;
  • Actual space in Lisbon to work on the project for 10 months;

Playstation talents in Portugal

The PlayStation Talents Awards began in Portugal in 2015, and since then, more than 350 projects have participated. During the first release, the winning game was Strikers Edge, by Fun Punch Games.
