Swedish Democrats: Profile accused of being a Nazi figure

It appears that the Swedish Democratic Party (SD) will be the biggest winner in the elections in Sweden, and the second largest in the country.

The anti-immigration party had previously been criticized for its neo-Nazi and radical right-wing roots, from which the party has now distanced itself. Party leader Jimmy Okeson told Dagbladet over the weekend that the party has done it Zero tolerance for extremism.

But on election night, it might look as if it was exactly the SD profile tribute to Hitler that Rebecca Vallenqvist did during an interview with alternative news site Samnytt, writing SVT.

Significantly drunk, she was asked at the election vigil how she felt her party had done so well, and she replied “victory of the weekend” and raised one arm. Not unlike the word “hell seger” used by the northern Nazi resistance movement, and the Swedish version of German “say hello” An official Nazi salute in Hitler’s Germany.

– So, what a wonderful bloody time. Holy victory, says Valenqvist.

However, Valnqvist quickly follows up with the word “victory weekend”:

– It’s a victory weekend for SD, she says.

In Norwegian, “segerhelg” can be translated as “victory weekend”.

– Too drunk

On Monday, SVT asked Vallenqvist what she meant by “victory weekend” and the subsequent “victory weekend”.

– I am not responsible for what people interpret, but for what I say exclusively. I was överförfriskad and should not be interviewed. I corrected Victory at the weekend because it’s grammatically correct.

She insists that what she intended to say was “helg seger” – “helg seier” in Norwegian.

– But then I realized that journalists can exaggerate it. So I corrected it to “segerhelg” (victory weekend magazine. Note..), she tells SVT.

When asked by SVT what “weekend” means in this case, Valenqvist replied that she understood what they were asking.

Not everyone is so used to winning as the Swedish Democrats are. But as you can see from the election results, it’s a “victory weekend” (weekend to win. Note..).

– not necessary

to me Express Valnqvist wrote that Helge Seyer changed something she said in an attempt to play on “the usual interpretations of the media”.

– But in hindsight I realized that it was not necessary, I wrote in a comment to the newspaper.

Fallenkvist also used the weekend’s victory phrase in a Twitter message on Sunday afternoon, on Election Day:

– Dangerous coupling

The head of press for the Swedish Democrats, Oskar Cavalli Björkman, also commented on the statement submitted to the SVT. He says that Valenqvist wanted to play in the victory parade – a controversial ad used by the SD in the run-up to the election, and that she was too drunk.

There is a serious connection, and it is a connection that the media does in the first place, of course. But I can understand that one does. When you hear it, it sounds like that. But you really have no reason to believe that anything other than that she was too drunk and that was wrong, Cavalli Björkman tells SVT.

Victory Train indicates that an entire subway train before the Swedish parliamentary elections wore the Swedish Democrats logo, as well as the texts “Welcome aboard Victory Train” and “SD 22” on the doors, according to Aftonbladet.

Among other things, the local trade union Sekou Tonilbanan criticized the political ads. The head of the trade union, Skuttidingen, said they believed it was a security risk, because opponents of the SD could attack the train.

It also caused an uproar when Tobias Andersson, a justice policy spokesman for the Swedish Democrats, posted a photo of the train on his Twitter account and wrote: “Welcome to the immigration train. You have one ticket. Next stop, Kabul!”.
