Álvaro Pacheco left a farewell message to Vizela, through a post on the social network Instagram. And the coach was dismissed from the technical leadership of the Physelia, with the club justifying the decision by “a difference of opinion regarding the sports project.”
“I am a football coach. This is the life that I have chosen for myself! I am happy because I do what I love, with passion, with joy, with conviction, with a lot of professionalism and dignity! I have found a family in Vizela. A family that I carry in my heart and that I have tried to honor in the best possible way. I am sure of I am living up to the greatness of the club and its people! Thank you so much for the opportunity you have given me! Thank you so much to everyone who has helped me on this journey! What a special journey this has been!! I was so happy here!!!”, it can be read.
Álvaro Pacheco left the Vizela captaincy after three and a half seasons. The coach was originally on Vizela’s two consecutive ascents, first from the Portuguese Championship to Liga 2, in 2019/2020, and the following season, to the top of Portuguese football. Last season, he managed to keep the team in the league. In the current season, in 13 matches in the first division, Vizela, led by Alvaro Pacheco, won four, drew three and lost six. In the Portuguese Cup, he “fell” in the fourth round at the feet of Vitória de Guimarães.
