The ball – Real beats Valencia and enhances its leadership (Spain)

Real Madrid consolidated its leadership in the Spanish League, Saturday, by beating Valencia 4-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu. Goncalo Guedes, a key player for the visitors like Helder Costa, scored the honorable goal.

Merengues started better and in the 7th minute, former Porto player Eder Militao left the first warning with his head, after a free kick by Kroos: a superb defense from Cillessen blocked the goal. In the other goal, Courtois saved Maxi Gomez (16).

But it was Real that created more danger: first Asensio’s shot to Cillessen’s defense, then Modric hit the crossbar and finally the goal, Benzema scored from a penalty kick, for a mistake on Casemiro that was intercepted by Valencia.

In the second half, the madridistas strengthened their lead with a double from Vinicius (52 minutes and 61 minutes), but Valencia did not give up. The defeat is confirmed, allowing Carlo Ancelotti’s team to consolidate their lead in the championship, with 49 points, eight points more than Sevilla (they have two games less).
