The big news in Microsoft Office is… Aptos, the new default font

Although most won’t admit it, one of the biggest customizations in Microsoft products is the font used. This most affects Office and the documents we write. Microsoft has now decided to change and introduce Aptos, its new standard line for the productivity suite.

We all have a favorite font that we almost misuse in the documents we create. Who doesn't remember to change everything to Arial, Times New Roman, or some other font that's nicer and easier to read.

Although no one is obligated to use it, Microsoft has a standard font in their Office products and this is the font used. By now we were used to having Calibri, however changes everything Upon reaching Aptos. This will be the new default font for Office.

It all started in 2021 with the introduction of five possible options. These were deemed best suited to replace the old Calibri as the default font. The gathering of opinions and information began at that moment and has now ended with the presentation of the Mukhtar.

World-famous designer Steve Matteson is behind Aptos. He was present in the creation of the main Windows TrueType fonts. He is also the creator of Segoe, the font that Microsoft uses in Windows even today and that we all used to see every day.

Microsoft indicated that this announcement marks the final stage of this change. Aptos is now implemented in Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel. Eventually, it will replace Calibri as the new default font in the coming months.
