The family unit saved Louis from the drug world, and he learned how to live again: “My goal is to connect with love for myself.”

Luis Martinez is proof that family unity saves lives.

At the age of 14, his mother, Kanta Laxmi, immigrated to Sweden in search of a better life. Luis did not adapt, so he returned to Portugal and was taken care of by his older sister. Being away from their mother wasn’t easy for either of them, but trouble started in the army. There he tried his first Ganza and his first drinks.

Over time, his consumption of alcohol and cocaine increased, but his family and friends were not in doubt, as he continued to fulfill all his responsibilities.

One of the memories he remembers of Julia is the birth of his son. “That happiness that I can’t share with anyone” On the same day he decided to eat it.

No one recognizes Louis anymore, not even he and the whole family band together to pull him out of his world of dependency.

“It seems like it was easy but it wasn’t. Accept talking about this disease [dependência]”says Elisa Martinez, the guest’s sister.
