Veronica Westerner, the NRK reporter in Washington, DC, was fully vaccinated. He is also her husband, Gunnar Washu Simonsen, but he and the children were diagnosed with Corona.
– It was a little intimidating, but everything is going well and it looks like we’re on our way out of it. But that shows just how important it is for everyone who is offered the vaccine to get the vaccine, Westhrin says over the phone from the US capital.
Last week, the husband felt symptoms of corona – all family members tested themselves, and he and the children got positive test results. Westrin, who was also vaccinated, survived.
The children had typical symptoms that children liked, very mild reactions such as a runny nose.

Westerin has an eight-year-old daughter and a five-year-old son.
Since it was only in the family that she did not become infected, it was only natural that Westhrin was the one who had to stay away from the rest of the family.
I kept my distance, slept downstairs and used face masks when I was around.
Although her husband and Wetherin were fully vaccinated earlier this year, they continued to follow infection control rules and tried to be careful.
They were vaccinated with a vaser with an efficiency rate of 91.3%.
We were confident that if we were to catch this virus, we would not get seriously ill precisely because we are being vaccinated. But there was still a possibility that we were infected – so it was important for us to continue to be vigilant.

Veronica Westerin from NRK: – Tragedy has run deep in me
The United States has been one of the countries hardest hit by the coronavirus – more than half a million Americans have lost their lives due to the pandemic.
Between two and three million doses of vaccine are placed daily around US hospitals, pharmacies, mass vaccination halls, and doctors’ offices.
It yielded rapid results, as many as 43 percent of Americans have now received their first dose of the vaccine, and 38 percent of adults over 18 have been fully vaccinated.
However, researchers believe that 70-85 percent of Americans You must be immune to the virus to stop spreading. This is exactly why Westhrin believes it is so important for as many people as possible to be vaccinated.
I cannot understand that people do not want to get vaccinated. It’s safe and effective, and even though my husband has been diagnosed with coronavirus, we don’t know how he would have reacted if he hadn’t gotten the vaccine.
Again, this just shows how important it is for people to get the vaccine meticulously to avoid contracting serious diseases, not least to prevent its spread. The more people vaccinated, the better for us to succeed in building immunity and fighting the virus. I would definitely encourage everyone to get vaccinated.
