The government bans the Chinese on 5G telecom networks

Portugal’s Cyber ​​Security Council, CSSC, has passed a resolution that could officially ban telecom operators from using Chinese equipment in their high-speed 5G mobile networks, as well as the 4G platforms on which the new technology is based.

The CSSC is an advisory body to the Prime Minister and the document, dated May 23, is another blow to Chinese tech giant Huawei's efforts to enter the 5G market in Portugal, Info Channel says.
The country's major operators, Altice, NOS and Vodafone, said they would not use Huawei equipment in their 5G core networks, in order not to compromise security.  Remember that in 2020 the United States "threatened" Portugal, if Huawei gets into the 5G network.

Huawei has already stated in a statement that it "has no prior knowledge and was not consulted about this matter" and that it is still collecting information "about the nature of the evaluation" and hopes to continue serving Portuguese customers.
5G represents the latest generation of mobile networks, improving their ability to deliver new services.  Unlike previous technologies, which were largely focused on consumer services, 5G was developed in order to facilitate the development of services for businesses and society in general.
Although 5G aims for data connection speeds of around 10Gbps, in 2021 the average end-user effective speeds are measured in values ​​between 400 and 600 Mbps.
