The Guarapuava Science, Technology and Innovation Forum carries out a technical mission to the “Valley of Electronics” in the state of Minas Gerais

IRegeneration, technology and ecosystem enhancement were the focus of the technical mission carried out by a delegation from Guarapuava to the municipality of Santa Rita de Sabocay, in Minas Gerais, on Wednesday (23 August). This initiative is part of the work of the Municipal Secretariat for Science, Technology and Innovation, in partnership with the Brazilian Support Service for Small and Micro Enterprises (Sebrae), and with the participation of members of the Municipal Science, Technology and Innovation Forum. The city of Minas Gerais, the destination of the trip, is a world reference in this sector, as it is known as the “Valley of Electronics”.

“This exchange of experiences aims to add knowledge to the Science, Technology and Innovation Forum. We are aware that the “cases” presented by Vale da Eletrônica, in the municipality of Santa Rita de Sapucae, will be useful for our future work. “The stimulus of public authority, through the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, is very important to connect the Guarapuava ecosystem with other successful ecosystems in Brazil. The alignment of the various actors that make up the Forum is fundamental for us so that we can build a consistent business environment. The exchange of experiences with the city of Santa Rita de Sapucae, which is an example of cooperation between actors and enthusiasm in the field of technology and innovation, shows that this consensus is necessary in building effective public policies in this field. During the visit to the city of Minas Gerais, the delegation visited the headquarters of the Municipal Innovation Program (Prointec), the Municipal Business Center, the Technical School of Electronics (ETE), the Center for Higher Education in Management, Technology and Education (FAI) and the National Telecommunications Institute, and got acquainted with the projects and companies incubated in the municipality.

“At Santa Rita, we already have a twenty-three year history of activities in this innovation program, which began with incubation. Today, this program has been expanded to other lines of work such as post-incubation, creative economy projects, technology fairs, and research support. This is an intense exchange that we must always have, in the sense of developing and improving our activities.“We hope that the exchange of information will continue, because the two governments are definitely winning,” commented Dani Xavier, Director of Projects and Innovation in Santa Rita de Sabocay.

Ecosystem of Santa Rita do Sapucai

The mission itinerary included a visit to PROINTEC, the innovation program within the scope of the Municipal Secretariat of Science, Technology, Industry and Commerce of Santa Rita do Sapucay, through which actions such as incubation of companies and technology-based projects are carried out. executed . advanced business incubation; support for creative economy companies; municipal innovation award; Supporting technology exhibitions, scientific and technological research incentives, and innovation.

Another institution in the Minas Gerais ecosystem visited is the Francisco Moreira da Costa Technical School of Electronics (ETE FMC), which was the first high school of electronics in Latin America when it started its educational activities in 1959. The team was able to learn about the structure of the unit and the story of the institution Lusia Reno Moreira (Dona Sinha Moreira) which is associated with the beginning of the ecosystem in the southern region of Minas Gerais.

The Center for Higher Education in Management, Technology and Education (FAI) is part of the “Vale da Eletrônica”, a pioneer in innovation, being the first higher education institution in Minas Gerais to include entrepreneurship in the educational field. The project of its courses and the second course of high-level computer science in the state of Minas Gerais and one of the twelve best courses in the country.

During the visit to the National Institute of Telecommunications (INATL), an institution dedicated to training professionals in the telecommunications and technology sector, the Guarapuava delegation learned about the structure of the institution. Inatel has more than 65 companies created through the startup sector, resulting in 65% of the local business community having some association with the institute, be it academic or commercial.

At the end of the first day of the technical mission, the team was greeted by Clear Purpose founder, Joanna Mao, who explained to the members of the entourage about the company, an innovative acceleration program. Since the beginning of last year, she has accompanied 24 companies, 70% of which are run by women.

Representatives of the Secretariats of Education, Women’s Public Policies, Communication and Science, Technology and Innovation, Innovation Park, Campo Real University Center, Unicentro, Sibrai, Regional Nucleus of Education Guarapuava, University of Guarapuava Business and Business Association (Acig), local businessmen and the legislature , represented by consultants Bruna Spitzner and Silvione de Quadros (Nigo Silvio).

The technical mission of the CT&I Forum continues on Thursday (24) in the city of Itajuba, in the southern region of the state of Minas Gerais.
