The hospital enhances advanced imaging and cardiovascular services with innovative equipment: the first of its kind in the country

CUF Descupadas Hospital, in Lisbon, has acquired state-of-the-art computed tomography (CAT) equipment with the aim of increasing the population's access to differentiated imaging tests. The Revolution APEX Elite equipment is the first to be implemented in the country and features speed, detail and a greater amount of information in obtaining heart images, avoiding the need for additional testing.

The new TAC has high technological performance, using GE HealthCare's artificial intelligence algorithms to acquire and reconstruct images, improving workflow and reducing radiation doses and the amount of contrast agents. Moreover, the device has a detector that covers the entire heart area in one cycle, providing greater convenience and speed.

Superior detail and greater amounts of information are essential for differentiated diagnosis, offering many advantages to patients. Gonzalo Marquez, Artistic Director of the Photography Department at CUF, states that “Superior detail and greater amount of information are essential for differentiated diagnosis, providing many advantages to patients.” It highlights this “Faster acquisition times allow patients to be exposed to a lower dose of contrast and ionizing radiation, reducing potential adverse effects. Nuno Manso, Imaging Coordinator at CUF Hospital d'Escobertas, He adds that “Obtaining high-quality images containing greater information, regardless of the patient’s age or clinical condition, allows for improved diagnostic accuracy, which is essential in prevention and rapid and early detection in diagnostic imaging.”“.
