The iPhone 16 Pro could offer these four new camera features

The iPhone 16 Pro, the top of Apple's range of phones and certainly one of the most expensive phones this year, will expand the range of photography features. But what can we expect to be relevant?

Many rumors have already been the subject of new features being added to the iPhone Pro 2024. For example, a possible change to the display has already been rumored, bringing a new, larger size, and the introduction of a new physical button, perhaps called.  Capture or capture button.
Several visual improvements are also expected in the camera hardware of the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max.
Some new rumors add to the offering four improvements we can expect in the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max camera.

The ultra-wide-angle camera has been updated
According to various signs and rumors, the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max will get an updated 48-megapixel Ultra Wide camera this year.  This would represent a huge improvement over the current 12MP ultra-wide camera on the iPhone 15 Pro.
The change should mean that the iPhone 16 Pro's ultra-wide-angle camera is much better in most photography situations, but especially in low-light environments.
Images also provide more detail and enhanced colours, while higher resolution also provides greater flexibility in editing and post-processing.

The iPhone 16 Pro's 48MP ultra-wide camera could also mean big improvements in spatial video recording.
This function relies on a combination of main and ultra-wide-angle lenses, and with the new 48MP ultra-wide-angle, it's possible that the iPhone 16 Pro could record 4K spatial video.  Currently, the iPhone 15 Pro can only record spatial video at 1080p.

Extended optical zoom for iPhone 16 Pro
Currently, the iPhone 15 Pro Max uses a new prismatic camera design that unlocks the capabilities of 5x optical zoom and 25x digital zoom.
However, with the iPhone 16 line, Apple will expand the improved camera to the smaller iPhone 16 Pro as well.  This means that the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max will offer at least 5x optical zoom and 25x digital zoom.

There's another development worth keeping in mind: A vague rumor suggests that the iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature a so-called "ultra-long telephoto periscope array."
This new feature will allow for over 5x optical zoom, but so far, the rumors have not been confirmed beyond this one source from last year.
Anti-reflective coating
A problem that all iPhone camera users are well aware of is lens flare when shooting in bright environments.  This issue causes unexpected artifacts and internal lens flare in images.
It's actually a hardware issue that affects most cameras on the market, but Apple has a solution in the iPhone 16 Pro.
According to rumours, Apple is testing a new “Atomic Layer Deposition” (or ALD) lens coating technology for the iPhone 16 Pro.

This anti-reflective coating can be applied to the iPhone 16 Pro camera lens to reduce the effects of internal reflections.
If this rumor is confirmed, it means you'll see fewer unexpected artifacts in photos from the 16 Pro – especially those taken in bright lighting situations.
Improved main camera of iPhone 16 Pro
Finally, the upcoming Pro model will use Sony's new main camera sensor with an improved design for better performance in low-light conditions.

Sony's latest stacked sensor technology separates photodiodes and pixel transistors, which are typically combined in a single layer.  This allows the photographic diodes themselves - the part that actually captures the light - to be much larger for the same overall pixel size.
Sony claims that this sensor captures twice the amount of light compared to existing camera sensors.

Capturing more light and removing more noise means better photos for iPhone users.  However, one thing that is not clear is whether Sony's next-generation sensor will be used in both iPhone 16 Pro models.
At least one rumor on Weibo claims that only the Pro Max will use these improved stacked camera sensors.
In summary…
Among the various rumors, some of which, they say, come from players in the supplier line, Apple's mission is to improve what it has already offered from the beginning and go a little further, getting closer, in some options, to what competitors offer.  Have or prepare.
Some of the rumors are not recent, which may indicate that they were not a priority for Apple.
