The highest authority responsible for professional football in Portugal, La Liga, on Wednesday afternoon organized a webinar with several guests to discuss current issues in the world of football.
In the first session to discuss “Integrated Planning for Media Security”, journalist Claudia Lopez, moderator of the seminar, received Dr Morten Possen, a doctor from the Danish Football Association and one of the main officials responsible for the resuscitation of Inter Milan star Christian Eriksen.

Sanchez Castaner, Director of TV Production – LaLiga, Jose Maria Cervantes, Director of Infrastructure of the Stadium – LaLiga – and Enrique Solano, Deputy Director of Enertica, met to discuss the importance of infrastructure for a better TV product.
The concept of professional football in a country as a product is what the leagues must promote in order to be able to sell the best that they can offer. In this specific aspect, the Spanish League has developed more than the Portuguese League, and Helena Perez admits, “Looking at La Liga as an example and with whom one can learn a lot on the way towards the centralization of television rights in our league.” To achieve this greater goal, which is taken for granted in the near future, Helena Pires emphasized that “very safe steps are being taken in this regard, but there is still much to be done”.
Sérgio Sánchez Castañer stressed “the importance of having an example to follow, but just as important the need to search for the characteristic that characterizes the league in question”. In the Spanish case, these were the demands of clubs to equip stadiums, “with the aim of bringing about a positive development in the transmission of the game”, such as “appropriate lighting, and specific cameras to create exclusive content”. It’s all for the people at home who, according to LaLiga’s director of television production, “represent 99.5%” of the game’s audience, without wanting to devalue the fans in the stadium.
Another speaker, Jose Maria Cervantes, noted “the difficulty that small clubs face in making the experience of going to the stadium more attractive to fans”, as LaLiga, as a rule, requires all clubs “standard conditions in terms of infrastructure”. “, something he sees as having to be improved in Portugal, where “there is still disparity between big and small clubs”.
The last speaker, Enrique Solano, spoke of “that clubs with high costs are required to meet this infrastructure criterion”, which, although costly, is not impossible “with the help of funding various entities such as those represented by – Enertika – offer the clubs.
