The new BYD Seal is now available to order, and is offered on the national market in two distinct versions: Design (rear-wheel drive) and Excellence (all-wheel drive).

The Seal design, with only one engine and rear-wheel drive, delivers 230 kW (313 hp) and is announced as race 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, with a range (WLTP combined cycle) of 570 km.

The Seal Excellence, the most powerful of the range, is equipped with two electric motors (one for each axle), raising power to 390 kW (530 hp) and claiming an acceleration of just 3.8 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h. As for autonomy, it is limited to 520 km.

In both cases, the 82.5 kWh battery (blade battery with LFP chemistry) can be charged at up to 11 kW alternating current (AC), and at an ultra-fast charging station it can support charges of up to 150 kW. In direct current (DC).

Later this year, BYD Seal will get a third version, based on the same type of battery, but with a capacity of 60.5 kWh, which we already know (and tested) in the BYD Atto 3. You can read (or re-read) this article below:

Lots of space

BYD's design team, led by Wolfgang Egger – specially designed models such as the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione – gave the Seal a stylish exterior image.

With aerodynamic coefficient (C_s) from only 0.219 – Flowing lines with a low nose, arched roof and rear ends in a simple spoiler, along with other elements such as integrated handlebars – the BYD Seal's curved lines ultimately give it a strong presence on the road.

Inside, what stands out most is the technological offer, based on the 15.6-inch rotating multimedia screen, the 10.25-inch digital instrument panel, the 4G connectivity system and the possibility of remote updates (over the air), without forgetting the driving assistance systems that guarantee a semi-automatic driving. Subjectivity (Level 2).

It's impossible to ignore the space on board this saloon, especially in the rear seats, which comes with a wheelbase of three meters (2.92 metres).

In addition, we are entitled to 400 liters in the luggage compartment (a figure slightly lower than the majority of competitors) and 53 liters in the trunk. frunk Under the hood, although the latter is only available in the rear-wheel drive version.

Any of these versions has a warranty of eight years or 200,000 km for the battery and eight years or 150,000 km for the electric motor.
