It was a very magical night.

The film and television awards season ends at dawn on Monday, March 12, with the expectation of the Oscars. However, before the lights came on at L.A.’s Dolby Theater and statuettes depicting the best in cinema were handed out, all eyes were on glamor walking the red carpet — or should I say champagne?

Over the years, this event has been the greatest example of Hollywood’s irreverence and sophistication, with fashion and beauty taking center stage. Proof of this is the union between stylists, stylists, and celebrities to build looks that will go down in history, from Cher’s showgirl ensemble (1986) to Björk’s movie dress (2001).

This year, the guests once again created unforgettable moments in terms of style. Since the appearances began, a trend seems to be picking up, with the glamorous looks making a comeback. The oversized design starred Sofia Carson by designer Giambattista Valli, as well as Elizabeth Olsen, Stephanie Hsu, Jessica Chastain, and Cara Delevingne, among others. They all started the night with proposals without any major gimmicks. The theme of the evening was undoubtedly class.

However, there are always exceptions to the rule. No stranger to creating poignant moments, Rihanna was undoubtedly one of the most polarizing looks of the night. Her Dominatrix-style dress didn’t fit into what appeared to be the gala dress code. She mixed transparencies with leather, and put it on a long-tailed skirt. She also took the opportunity to show off her pregnant belly.
