Develop and make a prototype of a vaccine approved by Anvisa and then take it to the clinical trial. Phase I. Phase II, and eventually Phase III,” explained the coordinator of the Vaccine Technology Center (CT Vacinas) at UFMG, Riccardo Gazzinelli.

According to him, The building is expected to be ready by the end of 2025 and to start operating in mid-2026..

Brazilian Covid Vaccine

Near the construction site of the National Vaccine Center is the UFMG CT Vacinas, where SpiN-TEC, the first 100% Brazilian vaccine against Covid-19, is being developed.

“We see from the results that we actually have a response as good as the enhanced response with AstraZeneca, for example. So, what's happening now is that Anvisa is analyzing these results,” said CT Vacinas deputy coordinator Santoza Teixeira.
