The new Apple TV 4K is easy to disassemble and repair – but it does bring significance

Traditionally, Apple products aren’t the easiest to disassemble and repair, but the Apple TV line has always appeared as an exception to this rule. Specializing in opening and separating devices, iFixit investigated the 4K 2021 model with very positive results – but that’s an important one.

Another finding is the fact that the device’s case is transparent to infrared, which makes it easier to use its controls. The Apple TV 4K 2021 turns out to be relatively uncomplicated to open it, as the company uses modular screws and modular parts that easily fit together.

The really tricky part is the new Siri remote, whose revamped design makes it hard to get inside. The bottom, which has two clear screws open, does not have many maintenance options, and the button removal process is subtle and difficult – completed, revealing another 3 screws that can be removed.
