Electric vehicle maker Polestar said Tuesday it is expanding its lineup to include a convertible with more than 870 horsepower with recycled polyester upholstery. Customers can now start booking slot machines online.
The Polestar 6, based on the O₂ electric vehicle, will enter production in 2026.
Thomas Ingenlath, CEO of Polestar, called the name Next Roadster "The perfect combination of powerful electrical performance and the excitement of fresh air from top to bottom."
The company announced some features targeting as such:
- price: 200 thousand dollars
- Speed from 0-100 km/h: 3.2 seconds
- maximum speed: 250 km/h
- Energy: 650 kW
- Autonomy (WLTP): More than 600 km
- driving line: dual drive
- electrical architecture: 800 volts
However, the company is already confirming a few things
The auto giant has confirmed that the convertible will use the same aluminum platform and 800-volt architecture that will underpin its future Polestar 5 GT.

In July, the company said it was on a good way to sell 50,000 cars this year. The Polestar 2 is currently the only model sold by the automaker, after production of the 600-horsepower 1 hybrid engine was discontinued.
The company's ambitious plans call for expansion into 30 countries by the end of 2023 and annual sales in 290,000 cars by 2025 About 10 times the sales of 2021.
