The President of the Political Institute of Castelo Branco (IPCB) argued that investing in science and higher education must have the support of all given its impact on development, cohesion, competitiveness and knowledge.
“Currently, we have more than 1,800 new students assigned to various levels of training. These are very encouraging results and a source of pride for the entire academic community, confirming the sustainable growth we have seen in recent years,” said Antonio Fernandez, during the 42nd anniversary commemoration. Through the National Access Competition (CNA), there are 741 new students in the IPCB (in 2021 there were 665) and through other systems, 547 new students entered this year (in 2021 there were 525). In the local competition of the Higher School of Polytechnic (ESART) 46 other students entered.
Regarding other levels of education, 200 new students are placed in Higher Technical Professional Courses (CTeSP) and 281 in Masters, and the institution is still waiting for the third stage of applications for some courses.
“These are the real numbers. They are facts. Neither maneuvering nor demagoguery. And for the sake of these numbers a lot is working, daily and responsibly. Others toil, constructing illusions and misrepresentations,” he stressed.
Antonio Fernandez, who has begun a new four-year term at the helm of the International Investment Board, wants to continue to emphasize the institution as a tool for collective development.
