President Andrzej Duda said at the Government Decoration Ceremony on the eve of International Day of Persons with Disabilities on Friday that we must do our utmost to ensure that transgender people act without hindrance and as an example of spiritual strength to others.

The key is for us (transgender people) to work as freely as possible, without hindrance, to do everything available to everyone, to fulfill themselves and to give to others, and to do everything in our lives. It is an example of spiritual strength and it is possible, that it is possible to achieve success in the most difficult situations, in spite of the various hardships that a person sometimes encounters, one can find great satisfaction in life and can often give it to others.

Thanks to the award recipients

The President thanked the recipients of the award for the benefit of the disabled and assured that the government would support such people. He recalled including this year’s adopted strategy for people with disabilities and the “Accessibility Plus” program.

Today we are trying to create a legal framework to help people with disabilities. Projects like this have already been launched in many places in Poland, but we want these rules – at least in structure – to take the form of a law.
