Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Monday evening that there is a real danger that the war between Russia and Ukraine could develop into a third world war. Agence France-Presse reports.
Lavrov stressed, however, that peace talks would continue, and emphasized that the agreement between the two countries would be the result of war. What they contain, on the other hand, will depend on the military situation.
At the same time, the foreign minister said that there is a high risk of a nuclear war.
The danger is great. It is real and not to be underestimated, says Lavrov, according to the RIA news agency.
The minister adds that arms shipments from NATO countries to Ukraine are now considered legitimate targets for Russia. Lavrov also claims that Ukraine took a big step in the wrong direction in the recent peace talks. This came after following the advice of the United States and the United Kingdom, according to news agency TASS.
