Alsones Balestrin visits the Serra Gaúcha innovation ecosystem on Mondays and Tuesdays, in addition to participating in Mercopar

The Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Sul, Alsones Balestrin, will visit the regional innovation ecosystem for the southern region of the state on Monday and Tuesday October 17 and 18. On this occasion, the owner of the portfolio will carry out the agendas in Bento Gonçalves and Caxias do Sul, visit companies, technology parks and city halls and talk about projects implemented with resources from the state treasury.

Rio Grande do Sul, in mid-September, won the second title as the most innovative country in Brazil, according to a survey conducted by the Center for Public Leadership (CLP), in partnership with Tendências Consultoria. The result, according to Ballesterin, is the result of several systematic programs and actions that put the country on the global innovation map. “From Summit South to our ecosystem of startups, technology parks, showcase projects and entrepreneurs, everything helps us get these strong numbers. Rio Grande do Sul has invested heavily in innovation, and the results are showing,” he says.

The Progress in Innovation Program has already provided R$112.3 million in resources to promote innovation, science and technology projects in Rio Grande do Sul between 2021 and 2022. In the Serra Gacha region, nearly R$4 million has already been allocated, mainly in order to Bringing together the so-called “four blades of the snail”: the university, public power, corporations, and organized civil society. During the official agenda, Minister Blisterine will visit some of these projects.
