Are you thinking of buying a bike? Do you already know government incentives? Published this week in Diário da República, the information that the CEO of António Costa will “present” more than 1,785 “checks” for the purchase of both conventional and electric bikes.

According to Order No. 8363/2021, the Office No. 2535/2021 it Regulates the granting of the incentive for the introduction of low-emission vehicles for consumption in 2021.
In accordance with the above, an incentive is created for the introduction of low-emission vehicles for consumption, with a global allocation of 4,500,000 (€) (four million five hundred thousand euros).  That is, there is an increase of €500,000 in incentives compared to what was initially set.
It should be noted that this new order modifies the number of incentives given to vehicles of rating 4 and 5, i.e. electric and conventional bikes, respectively.

With regard to electric bikes, it was stated in the order that “a maximum of 3,142 units will be awarded, arranged according to the date and time of submission of the incentive request.”  for traditional bikesIncentive units will be awarded with a maximum of 1,000 units, to be requested according to the date and time of submission of the incentive application".



Class 4: 3142 (three thousand one hundred forty-two) incentives or 1,100,000 (Euro) (one million and one hundred thousand euros);
Rating 5: 1,000 (thousand) incentives or 100,000 (euro) (one hundred thousand euros).



According to the data of the Environment Fund, 2,769 applications for electric bikes, motorcycles and mopeds were received at 100%.  Of these, 1,300 have already been accepted.  On conventional bikes, there are 1,349 applications, of which 613 are approved.
